DIRT ROADS (Mexico)

As we arrive my mouth is filled with dirt and my once white shirt is now a reddish brown!  I look around and I don’t see a church in site, just a bunch of kids playing!  I think to myself boy we could use GPS right about now, then i quickly remind myself that these roads aren’t mapped!  I say to the Pastor “why are we stopping” and he replies “we’re here” and with surprise In my voice I respond “we are!” How could that be! There was no signs marking the Pastor or the Pastor’s wife parking space. no Stain Glass Windows. no Crosses or not even a Nicely Painted Building or even a Parking Lot! Soon the kids take notice of us and run inside to announce our arrival.  We soon make our way inside. Once inside I don’t see any of the things that I have grown accustom too, but what I did see over the next hour or so would awaken the  spirit within me! The fact that they lacked chairs, Airconditioning or even a cement or tiled floor, quickly faded from my thoughts, but what they did have was something that I wanted! An undeniable love for God! Town after town, dirt road after dirt road, always seem to end at a little old Church filled with Lover’s of God! Some how in the mist of proverty they were able to see how much they had to be thankful for!  Maybe one day the children will announce your arrival.
See you inside! Ken d. gould
